According to Mecklenburg Housing Data as of November 30th, 2022, there are 3,032 people experiencing homelessness in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
3,032 individuals without a safe place to call home. 3,032 individuals who need affordable housing. 3,032 individuals that need access to supportive services.
It’s heartbreaking to think of the obstacles standing in their way. There is minimal true affordable housing and access to that housing is extremely difficult to obtain. I think about the individuals struggling with multiple jobs, those who are trying to obtain work, but their past doesn’t allow them, and those who are on waiting lists just hoping and praying to get called. Everyone deserves a safe place to call home, the dignity of a new beginning, and the hope for a brighter future!
Join us March 4th at our Un-Masquerade where we will be unmasking the homeless and affordable housing crisis. Molly Grantham will be our emcee for the evening. You’ll get to hear from Mary Belk - NC House District 88, live entertainment from Royal Academy of Irish Dance, music by Better Than Ravens, an amazing meal, silent auction, cash bar, and more!
Join us for a night you’re sure to remember! You’ll hear how important it is for our community to come together to ensure everyone has a safe place to call home, the dignity of a new beginning, and the hope for a brighter future!
